The world tour Begins! Jak and Joe Styley!

Ok people so I just got out of 5 hours worth of quarantine in the Brunei Airport and I have decided to keep you all up to date on mine and Jak's latest shenanigans. How the hell did that happen you ask? Well some time ago, shortly after me and Jak became good friends in fact we started coming up with crazy ideas, and well one of those ideas was to take a gap year and travel. After the huge sucess of our Argentina World Challenge month long expedition we thought we would up the anti a bit. This time round it's 3 countries in 4 months, New Zealand, Zambia and USA in that order. Moving along a bit after some speradic planning over a 4 or 5 months we finally came round to leaving. It SUCKED!! It always does, I had to leave my amazing and beautiful girlfriend Sarah behind, who I love very much and have done for nearly 3 years now. I also had to leave my family, and all of my friends :-( (special thanks to JP for actually coming up to the airport, even if his car broke lol). I also want to shout out to the ISG crew for such an awesome send off!

Any sad goodbyes aside, me and Jak got on the plane, first stop Dubai, I know what your thinking, I thought you were going to NZ?!?! Well we are but it's a 3 flight journey, OUCH! Dubai seemed really cool but unfortunatly we had to jump strait back on a plane for another 8 hours (help!). It wasn't too bad but by the time we landed at the next stop, Brunei, we were both exhausted and looking forward to an 8-10 hour break in and around Bandar, Brunei. This was not the case, instead we were confronted with someone sticking something in our ear and barracking us in a large room which was already looking pretty full up. Now I don't know about you, but that's not how I relax, at least not after a good 18 hours on a plane. So we stood for a while, then we sat for a while, then we laid down for a while, and then, we wondered why the hell we hadn't been let go yet. We asked one of the Masked many and they responded by telling us that we only had to wait for two people to be given the all clear. Two quickly became one, and one bluntly refused to become zero! The guy had a fever aparantly that thing they put in our ear takes your temperature and his was too high. Having failed the temp test first go he then did it again and so they sent him packing to the hospital and kept us waiting for the blood test results. 4-5 hours........4-5 HOURS they said...

well many card games, a light lunch (light being the operative word) and some funky tasteing pineapple juice later we still didn't have an answer. Rumour has it that the guy had been drinking spirits on the plane, which is when we stop call him "him" and started calling him a pr#*k! True or not we were fed up, it had been a good 4 hours in there now and we wanted out! Jak hit the floor and dosed off, apparantly floors are much more comfortable than seats (you decided, but after that amount of time on a plane I could see what he meant). 45 minutes later and the one of the masked took their mask down and people started getting up...YES! Time to go! I woke Jak up we got up and came to this little internet cafe. What a nightmare....well what an experience anyway!

I feel a lot better now I have had a chance to sit back and type out the days events, and mega plus I got to hear Sarah's voice :-D!

Anyway, until next time, stay tuned and much love!

Joe
